
Willie Slaton IV

Born and raised in South DeKalb County, 'Coach Will' began playing baseball at 3 years old at Shoal Creek Park in Decatur, Ga. His love and dedication for the game led him on a life long journey of being immersed in elite level baseball all over the United States. Willie chose to attend Martin Luther King, Jr. High School after playing on the junior varsity team in 8th grade while still in middle school. Willie played baseball year around for some of the top travel baseball teams in the country under the coaching of Mark Mortimer and Jack Stewart (founder of OTC Bearcats and Big Stix Gamers). In 2007, Willie went on to play college baseball at North Carolina A&T State University and Valdosta State University on an athletic and academic scholarship graduating with degrees in both Accounting and Finance in 2011. "I love the game of baseball and I am equally concerned with impacting the youth in my community. What better way to employ both by passing along the knowledge that I've gained from a sport which afforded me so many opportunities in life, than by joining aside with a few of my former teammates and lifelong friends in pursuit of leading the youth in our community to healthy and successful lives."
Kyle Moody

Kyle’s passion for the game of baseball began at the age of 3 starting with instructional league at Brownsmill Park in Lithonia, Ga. Kyle participated in leagues at Brownsmill until the age of 14 and attended Martin Luther King Jr. High School where he played junior varsity as an 8th grader and on varsity as a sophomore. Kyle trained year round with Rocky Thorn at Baseball Performance Center in East Cobb, Ga all throughout high school and played year round under Mark Mortimer and Jack Stewart with the OTC Bearcats and BigStix Gamers organizations in McDonough, Ga from 2004-2007. Alongside Tribe head coach and lifelong friend Willie Slaton; Kyle helped build a winning reputation for these organizations with a core of players that included four 2007 MLB draft picks. Kyle received a full athletic/academic scholarship to play baseball at Benedict College in Columbia, SC and eventually transferred to Valdosta State University in Valdosta, Ga where he roomed with fellow Tribe coaches Sedrick Parker and Willie Slaton graduating in 2012 with degrees in Finance and Marketing. “I’m here to develop players both on and off the field while investing in the community and game that has contributed to so much of my athletic and academic success”- Coach Kyle
Sedrick Parker

Sedrick Parker was born and raised in South DeKalb County. At 3 years old, he quickly found his passion in Instructional Baseball at Browns Mill Park. Under the coaching leadership of Greg Johnson and Virgil Ruffin, Sedrick was given the foundation to be successful in baseball and Life. He attended Martin Luther King, Jr. High School in DeKalb County where he played 2 years of junior varsity and 2 years of varsity baseball, before graduating in 2008. He went on to attend Valdosta State University and graduated with a major in Criminal Justice in 2012. After graduation, he immediately started his coaching career with L.E.A.D. To Legacy youth program in Atlanta, Ga under the leadership of CJ Stewart. Sedrick thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to help inspire young men but decided to focus on building a program in his hometown community of South DeKalb. Charles Johnson

Coach Johnson is a life long resident of Dekalb County and played park ball at several Dekalb County parks throughout his youth. He brings 17 years of coaching experience to the Tribe Organization and has coached travel ball at a high level all throughout the country. Coach Johnson enjoys using the sport of baseball to teach life long lessons to youth from all over the city and state.
Ellis George

Coach "E" is from Atlanta Georgia and attended Decatur High School class of 2004. He was All State and All County (DeKalb) in football 2004. Coach E attended Miles College in Fairfield, AL from 2004 to 2007 on a football scholarship. He has two sons within the Tribe organization. His main goal is to uplift young men on and off the baseball field.
Clarence Calloway

Born in raised in Atlanta, Ga and product of Dekalb County. Married to Jodye Callaway with two kids Savannah and Clarence Callaway III. Coach Callaway attended Lakeside High School and is a graduate of Mississippi State University with a degree Ed. Psychology where he played Football and Basebal as a defensive back and centerfielder. Coach Callaway tried out with the Braves, Royals, Eagles, and Cowboys before becoming an educator. He currently works as a Assistant Principal at Luella Middle School in Henry County where his love for sports helps him propel kids forward athletically and academically.
Julian Carter

Julian Carter began playing baseball at the age of 3 at brownsmill park. He grew up at the park were he found the love for the game and meet many of the coaches within the Tribe organization. Julian played high school baseball at MLK while also playing summer travel ball for New Level Baseball where his outstanding play in several tournaments earned him a scholarship to Tennessee WesleyAn college. At Tennessee Wesleyan, Julian played in the NAIA College World Series. Once Julian returned to the Metro Atlanta area he quickly began his coaching career at Brownsmill Park in 2013. The following year, Julian and Coach Sedrick Parker teamed up to manage two different teams at once. In 2015, both teams joined the South DeKalb Tribe organization in efforts to help build and develop the youth further.
William Watkins

Justin Honore

Justin Honore was born and raised in Decatur GA, just minutes from Gresham Park and where he started playing baseball at the age of three. His enthusiasm for baseball soon gave him the outlet and time away from the activities occurring in his neighborhood which allowed him to avoid becoming just another statistic plaguing many urban communities. As Justin got older, he began playing baseball on travel ball circuit with teams ranging Sports Tech to the RBI Brave and RBI Pirates, this is where he saw firsthand a life outside Decatur, where baseball allowed him to travel with his peers and compete in a sport he truly enjoyed. Justin played JV during his 8th grade year and soon earned a partial scholarship to Our Lady of Mercy Catholic High School where he later lettered his freshman year. Justin later transferred to Martin Luther King Jr High School joining Willie, Kyle and Sedrick on the varsity baseball team. Baseball also gave him the opportunity to attend college where he started playing his freshman year at Grambling State University prior to hanging up his cleats in pursuit of his Real Estate career. Understanding the value of Education, he later returned to school at the University of Georgia to major in Finance and Real Estate graduating in May of 2017. Baseball provided structure, discipline, persistence and a strong work ethic, all of which allowed him transfer those skills off the field. Justin's purpose is to give the next generation an opportunity at a better life, and through baseball he feels is just the vehicle to do so.

DeAngelo Stephens

DeAngelo A. Stephens, born October 1st, 1990 in Decatur GA. Started playing youth baseball, at the age of eight, at Exchange Park, Decatur GA. Graduate of Southwest Dekalb high school where he followed attending Alabama A&M College in Huntsville, AL. DeAngelo's love for baseball lead him into coaching youth baseball in 2015, at Gresham Park in Decatur GA. In 2016, DeAngelo transferred his coaching skills to in his words, "a great organization the South Dekalb Tribe!", coaching out of Browns Mill Park, Lithonia GA. His ultimate vision and goal, is to motivate, inspire and lead the youth to success on the field and off, all while bringing the community together.

Christian Moore

Christian Moore is a husband and a father of three children from the Decatur/Lithonia area. Christian's early sports days was played at Brownsmill Park and Recreation Center were he had numerous success in football, basketball, and baseball. Christian attended Lithonia Highschool were he started at running back on the varsity team from his sophomore year thru his senior year. After Highschool Christian was awarded a football scholarship and is now an alumni of Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Al. Christian has coach a combination of youth baseball, softball, and adults kickball for 10 years.
