TRIBE DAY 2018
America’s favorite past time is upon us, especially here in DeKalb County. The South DeKalb Tribe will be hosting its inaugural Tribe Day right here in DeKalb on Friday, April 14th at Arabia Mountain High School.
The South DeKalb Tribe is a youth baseball organization that consists of 6 teams ranging from ages 3-11 compromised of 76 kids, two of the teams being national travel ball teams.
The Tribe achieved some amazing accomplishments in 2016 on and off the field. The Tribe 11U Gold team won several tournaments during the course of the year and earned the right to compete in the Elite 32 National World Series at the Disney Wide World of Sports in Orlando, Fl. The Tribe 11U Navy team won the Grandslam Georgia State Championship and posted and impressive 5 and 2 record in the USSSA Global World Series in Gulf Shores, Al. The organization as a whole also participated in several community involvement events including the Heart of South DeKalb parade and the Atlanta Lupus Walk. This past December, the Tribe also hosted its first Holiday Giveback where the kids personally handed out more than 600 pairs of underwear and 400 personal hygiene items to the homeless in downtown Atlanta.

Tribe Day is a preseason kickoff where each team and player will be introduced to the community. There will be a host of guest speakers, including former MLB player CJ “The Baseball Motivator” Beatty, financial services professional David Moody and Peach State Health Plan. The organization will also announce this seasons Tribe Scholars, who are players who have excelled academically earning all A’s on their final semester report card and complete satisfactory conduct. There will be plenty of food, fun and games for all ages to enjoy while also showing support to our youth in this community.
